Penybont defeated Barry Town 1-0 on the club's return to Jenner Park.

An uneventful and goalless first-half gave way to a highly "frustrating" second.

Captain Clayton Green was sent off in controversial circumstances for bearing his studs while lunging for a ball in the 63rd minute.

Penybont's Sam Snaith then hammered in a stunning strike from outside the box against the 10-man Town 15 minutes later.

The visitors were then able to survive a late flurry from Town with last ditch defending.

Town are now 5th in the table with 27 points, falling behind Penybont who are level on points but have a game in hand.

The result ended Town's unbeaten home run of seven games.

Barry Town's Twitter page said:

"A frustrating night as we are beaten by a second half Sam Snaith strike. We ended the game with 10 men following a very harsh red card for Clayton Green.

"We go again Saturday. Time to stick together.

"Credit to @PenybontFC_ for their performance this evening, have a safe journey home."

The club's next fixture is a 2:30 home kick off against Aberystwyth on Saturday.
