The Amelia Trust Farm in Barry has released a virtual tour video to let residents virtually visit the animals they have missed during the lockdown.

They said: ''Here it is...our virtual tour of Amelia Trust Farm showing you our wonderful animals that are carefully being looked after by our animal care team whilst the farm is closed due to #covid_19

''Don't forget you can visit our website to donate! Keep your eyes peeled for more of these virtual tours, we hope you enjoy.''

You can view the video above or on their Facebook here.

The announcement of the virtual tour received support from across Barry with over 250 shares of the original message.

Charities across the UK are struggling with the lack of income from visitors and trade.

Under normal circumstances, the Amelia Trust Farm is a countryside sanctuary for everyone to enjoy.

They are a registered charity who have a long history of providing therapeutic support to disadvantaged and vulnerable people in a Care Farm setting.

During term-time, they run a programme for young people who are struggling in mainstream education perhaps because they have suffered abuse or neglect or are statemented with neurodevelopmental disorders such as ADHD or autism.

The farm is usually open to all members of the public but during the coronavirus pandemic, they have shut their doors to visitors.

Through it all, they have continued to support the community. In March as the UK went into lockdown they said: ''Due to COVID-19, we have a lot of lovely fresh eggs from our hens that we are unable to sell because we are closed to visitors.

''So, we have donated 70 boxes of eggs to the 4x4 response South Wales branch who are working with Cardiff Council and the food banks to make sure the vulnerable in the area have supplies when they can't leave home.

''We will continue to help as much as possible.''
