The Vale of Glamorgan Council announced today that they were investigating after over 200 plants were stolen from Victoria Park yesterday night.

They said: ''Heart-breaking to hear that over 200 bedding plants were stolen from Victoria Park's flower beds overnight.

''Our Parks Teamwork exceptionally hard to keep parks and gardens across the Vale maintained for all to enjoy. Plants stolen include 25 Rudbeckia, 25 Helichrysum and 200 Geraniums.

''This is unacceptable behaviour. We are currently checking CCTV and the incident has been reported to the police.''
