Barry Coastguard and RNLI Team Search for Missing Person

Barry Coastguard and the Docks RNLI team were called out to help in a multi-agency search for a missing person at Barry Island yesterday afternoon.

They were joined by the Penarth team, Llantwit Major CRT, Chepstow CRT and South Wales Police and NPAS South West.

Barry Coastguard said: ''Our volunteers were tasked this afternoon to assist in a multi-agency search for a missing person Barry island.

''On arrival at the scene, we liaised with South Wales police and a search of the local area from the knap to Jackson's bay was conducted.

''Fortunately, shortly after deployment of our search teams, a call came in that the casualty had been located safe in a Nearby Cricket ground by PCSO and directed local police officers to casualties location.

''Fantastic effort by all with a positive outcome.''
