Two opportunities have arisen for high-quality food and drink outlets to operate within Romilly Park and Pencoedtre Park.

ROMILLY PARK:

Romilly Park is a CADW grade II listed park and has a bowling green, tennis courts, children's play area, seasonal floral displays and a large open area for recreation.

The Vale Council are seeking to work with a licensee who complements the quality of the environment.

The park was awarded a Green Flag for 2019.

The Council is offering a concession at the location shown outlined red on the plan (image 1).

The permitted use shall be for the selling of hot and cold drinks, associated snacks (cakes, chocolate and healthy snacks including fruit) and during the opening hours of the Park.

No hot food will be allowed.

The licence is available for 1 year with an option for a further 2 years.

PENCOEDTRE PARK:

Pencoedtre Park is a popular destination for families across the summer. It is home to the Splash Pad which is open daily until 3rd week in September. There is also a skateboard park, a toddler play area and multi-use games area.

The Council are seeking to work with a Licensee who will provide refreshments to the users of the park.

The Licence shall be in respect of a Food Concession, Pencoedtre Park, Barry, Vale of Glamorgan, at the location shown outlined red on the plan (Image 3).

No hot food will be allowed.

Trading Times:

• The Licensee can only trade from The Premises within Pencoedtre Park opening hours 10:00 to 18:00 daily.

• In normal circumstances, the Council's expectation is that trading will occur daily throughout the summer period of the licence and will begin no later than 10:30 am and cease at the latest 30 minutes before park closing.

• However, the Licensee will be granted flexibility on trading hours within the advertised park opening times to allow the licensee to reduce losses incurred when the park is quiet due to inclement

weather.

The licence is available for 1 year with an option for a further 2 years.

The strict deadline for submitting tender bids for both applications is 12 Noon on Wednesday 4 March 2020.
