Here's The Nub Of It: Local News By You, For You

By The Editor

18th Jul 2019 | Local News

Since Barry Nub News launched in May we've come a long way.

In that short time, we were the first to publish several important local news stories - including the new development's for Barry's waterfront and the Green flag awards nominated in Barry.

Across Nub News we are working with local businesses, individuals and charities to publish their news and events across the site.

A variety of important local tourist attractions - including Barry Memo Arts Centre - are now posting on our sites.

It's been a fantastic start...but with your involvement it can be even better.

Nub News is unique in that it lets YOU self-publish using the Nub It buttons found on the home page for news and What's On.

How do we avoid fake news?

All submitted content requires a legitimate name, e-mail and telephone number and is moderated by the regional editor before going live.

Nub News is the perfect platform for your organisation, charity, business, church, school, sport's team - anyone in fact - to share your fantastic achievements with the community.

We LIKE good news stories. While it is intrinsic to my role as Regional Editor to publish all types of news, we can already see that good, local, community interest stories are hugely popular.

The concept of community-driven editorial is gaining momentum around the world.

Community content will become the norm and we already have contributors who have embraced the idea of self-publishing with enthusiasm - providing interesting and well-read content.

It goes without saying that you know best what is going on in your community - both the good and the bad - and Nub News offers you the opportunity to share this with our readers.

So, visit your hyper-local Nub News website, have a look around and maybe you - or an organisation you are associated with - will have something to contribute. It's quick, easy and, of course, free.

We want to provide news without any annoying click-bait, pop-up surveys or advertising.

Finally, I would like to thank all those who have contributed community content so far - several more than once.

If you want any advice or guidance about self-publishing or want to talk to me about a news story then don't hesitate to e-mail [email protected].

In the meantime, you can follow us on Twitter to see what we're up to: @BarryNubNews
