Wildflowers transform Barry Dock Train Station pathway previously littered with rubbish

The pathway connecting Barry Dock train station with Dock View Road has been transformed in recent months thanks to volunteers.

Between March and April this year Hayley and Ian Howell spent an hour everyday litter-picking to tidy the area they regularly walk through.

After the final bags of rubbish were removed, the couple laid washed down soil from another part of the site by the entryway.

"We then planted some wild flower seeds and Mother Nature did the rest," said Ian.

Throughout their clean-up, Ian and Hayley discovered a bag of mobile phones, an old bike, discarded clothes and shoes.
