The Vale Council has launched an appeal to identify the person responsible for dumping a "significant" amount of timber and building equipment at the rear of Broad Street and High Street.

The Council say they are "keen to speak to whomever is responsible... You can call us, in confidence on 02920 673092 or by emailing us at [email protected], quoting reference 239."

In 2018/19 (the latest available statistics), the Vale of Glamorgan reported 357 incidents of fly-tipping and spent over £18,000 on clearance.

Fly-tipping is considered a serious offence. The courts have various powers available to them to tackle fly-tipping, including imprisonment, unlimited fines and an order to deprive rights to a vehicle used to commit the offence.

Most prosecutions result in a fine.
