The Vale of Glamorgan Council has confirmed that the two black bag limit per household will be reinstated from Monday 1 February.

The council had temporarily lifted the limit over the Christmas and New Year period, allowing residents to place up to four black bags out for collection.

Residents can place out up to four black bags on their black bag collection day until 1 February, in just under two weeks' time.

"We're asking residents to try and stick to the two black bag limit where possible by continuing to recycle," said the council.

It is possible to arrange additional bag allowance for residents struggling to meet the two-bag limit if your household has:

• Six or more residents

• Pet waste and bedding

• Ash from household log burners/fires

• Nappies or adult hygiene products

• Other waste that you can't recycle or limit to 2 bags.

If you wish to discuss your needs with the council, you can ring 01446700111, and a warden visit may be arranged.

Check if something can be recycled using the council's A-Z of recycling search .
