Large Log Causes Barry Coastguard Callout

The Barry Coastguard team were called out to a mysterious object in the water this morning which was called in as a possible canoe at Whitmore Bay.

The team said: ''This morning our volunteers were tasked to an object in water, possibly a canoe.

''When the team arrived on scene they quickly identified a large log floating just off Nell's point.

''Luckily this time no persons in difficulty and the team were stood down.

''It was nice to see that people observing Government Guidelines and the beach and promenade was quiet.

''People should follow government #Coronavirus advice & #StayHomeStaySafe wherever possible.

''If you do venture out for fresh air, stay local and make sure you are aware of social distancing measures.

''Keep your family and pets safe.''
