Garden waste collections will start again for Barry and the rest of the Vale of Glamorgan from next week.

The collection will recommence in the week starting Monday 13 April 2020.

The Vale Council said: ''If possible, please store any garden waste in your garden until collections begin.''

This follows the announcement that garden waste collection would be paused temporarily due to staff shortages amid the coronavirus outbreak.

Black bins and recycling were prioritised.

As the weather gets better and people are spending more time at home and in their gardens, the return of this service will come as welcome news.
