Futuristic 'Game Arch' Comes To Barry Park
The future has come to Central Park in the shape of a 10-foot Welsh-speaking orange arch.
The "Sona", created by Dutch company "Yalp", challenges players to a variety of games, such as dance competitions and racetracks, with levels increasing in difficulty.
This Nub News reporter had a go earlier, only to have his high score beaten moments later by a seven-year-old.
It is the first of its kind in Wales and even included a Welsh language setting.
The 4x4 metre play floor is also accessible to wheelchair users and can be used by several children at once.
Deputy Leader of the Council and Cabinet Member for Education and Regeneration, Cllr Lis Burnett said:
"We are excited to welcome this fantastic piece of kit to Central Park and are proud to home the first Welsh-language version of the unit.
"Yalp's state-of-the-art design offers a range of exciting and ever-developing games and is the first phase of a series of works to transform the play area. We look forward to seeing further improvements due over the next 12 months.
