The Well Bean Cafe, a project to combat social isolation and offer mental health services in Barry, is on the lookout for volunteers.
This Saturday, an event has been set up to for locals to find out more about the project and how they can get involved.
Pierre Codron who is the director of Cardiff and the Vale Well Being is running the cafe along with another colleague Helen.
In a statement announcing the project they said: ''We're excited to announce that very soon, we'll be opening The Well-Bean Cafe, Barry's very own self-sustaining and ethical community and arts space that is going to well and truly feed souls and feed bellies. And it's for everyone.
''Now here's the thing: we need some help. The Well-Bean cafe is going to be a central part of the Vale community and we'd like as many of you as possible to get involved.
''There is loads you can do from helping us make the tea, to sitting with someone who might like a chat and a friendly ear because you're the only person they'll see that day.
''We're not asking for your money, we're really just asking for your time so please, if you can donate any of your time, however big or small, we promise you it won't be wasted, it will make a massive difference to someone else.
''If helping to make this community interest project get off the ground sounds like something you'd like to be part of, then please please come and see us.
''We're going to fling the doors open of The Well-Bean Cafe on Saturday 29th February 2020 from 12-9 (We don't officially open until March), so if you'd like to pop down for a chat to see what it's all about and how you can help, we'd love to see you.''
