The Queen B donates 10 days of hospice care to local charity

Barry's very own The Queen B Boutique has fundraised £1,500 to pay for 10 days of nursing care in City Hospice's Donate a Day campaign.

Jodie Tanner is the owner of The Queen B Boutique, a clothing retailer specialising in high-end mother of the bride and occasion wear, with stores in Penarth and Barry. Who is Barry's most wikipedia'd person? Nub News is able to tell you who Barry's most wikipedia'd person is since records began in June 2015... and who came close.

Without further ado, here's our list.

UP CLOSE IN BARRY with Craft Republic

Last week we heard the news we'd been so looking forward to – from 26 April, outdoor hospitality spaces can open for business.

Finally, that dream of enjoying a drink in our favourite pubs, restaurants and bars is within touching distance.

For Claire and Tim Whalley, owners of Craft Republic at the GoodSheds, that date can't come soon enough.

"The biggest show Barry's ever seen" - Pleasure Park sets reopening date

Barry Island Pleasure Park is set to reopen on 26 April, the earliest date outdoor attractions are allowed to do so according to Welsh Government restrictions.

Henry Danter, who has owned the park for six years, says he is preparing to put on the "biggest show Barry has ever seen", complete with new rides.

"We're very, very excited - more excited than we've been since October when we closed," he told Nub News.

Petition to upgrade Palmerston Park gains momentum

A petition to upgrade Palmerston playground has gleaned 274 signatures. Campaigners and signatories say the park has been neglected by the Vale of Glamorgan Council in favour of nearby playgrounds.

There are currently just five pieces of equipment, no benches and limited disabled access.

Other playgrounds, including Central Park and Cosmeston, have recently been improved.

Lights, camera, action! Barrybados becomes Barrywood
