Barry kite festival, Beyond the Clouds, returns for its 10th year this month.
The event, held on the longest day of the year, has continued to grow in scale and excitement.
Residents are encouraged to join in with the celebrations of summer at Barry's infamous kite festival.
Festival organiser, Glyn Pooley said: ''This year we are bringing people together in nature to focus on peace and kindness through the simple joyful act of flying a kite.
''We hope to attract 200- 500 people, depending on the weather, to send out positive thoughts and actions of goodwill.''
Free kites will be available for those who arrive early but people are encouraged to create their own.
There will be a prize for the most exciting and creative Kite on show and the winner will also be featured on the website.
Professional Kitesman Wayne Kiteman from Perth, Australia will be flying and sharing the beauty of his specialist kites.
Glyn Pooley said: ''We have also teamed up with Kites for Peace project from Harare, Zimbabwe whose shared aim is to inspire inner peace through the simple act of kite flying and the liberating feeling one may get by doing so.''
Peace Zimbabwe attracts 2000 people to their event together with 50 organisations this year.
Artist Bill Chambers will also be running a free kite decorating workshop for children and families.
This is a drop in workshop for all ages, using colouring pens to decorate and embellish ready-made kites to fly at the festival.
During the week, Bill will be working with children from local schools (High Street and Holton Road Primary) to create hand printed kites that celebrate Barry's Roman history as part of the Barry Making Waves Project.
Admission FREE (but donations to Art4u are warmly appreciated).
Art4U are hosting Beyond the Clouds 2019 Kite Festival from 5.30 p.m. on Friday June 21st, 2019.
The event is supported by Barry Town Council.
