Cowbridge Art Society has presented a new body of work by its members at a Spring Exhibition at Barry Hospital.

Many members have continued to create artworks through our lockdowns, and this exhibition showcases a variety of genres, styles and approaches by talented local artists.

Artists include Graham Anderson, Viv Aynsley, Wendy Broom, Sandra Anderson, Nick Hawksworth, Jaci Harries, Jackie Hughes, Roger Keller, Chi Lee, Andy Lloyd, Fran Lloyd, Gaye Lloyd, Penny Lloyd, Liz Pepper, Dave Phillips, Deirdre Schweitzer and Sandra Wintle.

Meetings are usually held on Thursday evenings with a comprehensive programme including demonstrations by professional artists, workshops and occasional social meetings.

Currently this is all on hold due to the pandemic, but the society continues to have a social media presence where any updates can be found.

Cowbridge Art Society was founded in 1960, starting as an Art Appreciation group, with the aim: "to promote and foster the appreciation of, and participation in the visual arts."

CAS continues to thrive: it has approximately 70 members, the majority of whom are artists ranging from beginner to highly accomplished.

The Cowbridge Art Society has also held annual exhibitions every year from 1961 until 2019.

"The COVID-19 pandemic prevented our 2020 Winter Exhibition, so this is our first exhibition since then," said the society.

"Hopefully this Spring Exhibition represents the beginnings of a return to some normality after the longest and darkest of winters."
