A Barry business has thrived during lockdown, leading to the opening of its first store at the Goodsheds in Barry this week.

Dimensional Art began as a hobby for Natalie Bolan in 2015, growing largely online via Etsy, with products stocked in local businesses on High Street in Barry.

The items sold by Dimensional Art are all created from original illustrations by Natalie, which are turned into cards, gifts, prints and woodwork, which are burnt by hand.

Despite the Coronavirus pandemic changing many things in our lives, it's given Natalie the opportunity to focus more time on the business – seeing her sending hundreds of orders each week all over the United Kingdom, leading onto its biggest development yet.

In October, Dimensional Art was approached with an opportunity to be part of a new community called 'The Makers', which houses five independent businesses in a repurposed Gatwick express carriage on the tracks at the Goodsheds in Barry.

As well as being home to Dimensional Art, the tracks and makers carriage is home to Zac and Bella, Crafted Arts, Siempre Aromas, Matthew Jones Ceramics, Lekker Food Co and Wild Meadow Floral.

Natalie said: "I love living in Barry and I've been a huge fan of the Goodsheds since it opened earlier this year – when the opportunity came about to be part of the new Makers Carriage, I just had to say yes".

"The response so far has been overwhelming and I'm looking forward to welcoming everyone into the shop in the weeks and months to come."

Dimensional Art can be found at Unit 9, The Makers Carriage at the Goodsheds and is open Tuesday – Sunday, with a full range of products available to click and collect via [L] www.dimensionalart.co.uk [.L]
