The Royal Balti in Barry has won best takeaway of the year at the Welsh Takeaway Awards 2019.

This is the second award this month that they have collected for the standard of the food they produce.

They took away the prize for Curry Takeaway of the Year South East: Royal Balti (Barry) as well as Overall Winner.

The inaugural awards provided an opportunity to showcase those who performed well over the past years and are considered the best choice by the public.

The awards also celebrated top establishments that strive to be different.

They commended those who deliver great food to their customers in a timely manner, making it easier to enjoy their meal while in the comfort of their homes.

Several of the awards were split into local regions to ensure the diverse range of businesses from across Wales are recognised for providing unique dishes, creating a true gastronomic experience.

Irfan Younis, CEO of Creative Oceanic said: "Although in the first year, we are honoured by the fantastic response we have had from the public who was so keen to vote for their favourite takeaways.

"This industry has grown massively over the past years and we aimed to seek out, reward and thank those who have managed to make a real difference by serving fantastic food, using the best of ingredients.

"The winners are an outstanding example of excellence whose dedication to be the best has made them stand out among the rest.

"We would like to congratulate all finalists and winners for their amazing achievements."
