The bank holiday Monday was interrupted for the volunteer all-weather lifeboat crew as their pagers sounded at approximately 1 O'clock.

The lifeboat was tasked by Milford Haven coastguard to a fishing boat with mechanical problems half a mile south of St Donats.

The boat was towed back to Barry harbour by Barry Dock RNLI.

During the crew debriefing the pagers sounded again and the all-weather lifeboat launched again to another boat that had broken down in Sully Bay.

The boat was towed back and placed on a mooring in Barry harbour.

Once back on the pontoon at about 6.30pm the RNLI lifeboat was made ready for its next service and the crew could enjoy the rest of the bank holiday.
