Academy Espresso in Barry will be reopening soon for locals to enjoy their caffeine fix once again and enjoy the refurbishments that they shop have completed during the lockdown period.

This will come as welcome to news to many with the shop being a popular local stop-off. Take away will be the first service available with details on home delivery to be announced later on.

They said: ''You'll be able to see the changes soon! From next Monday (18th) we are reopening our doors in Barry for takeaway only. For your safety and in line with government advice, the store will look slightly different.

''Social distancing - we will be limiting the number of customers in the store at any one time.

''We have added floor markers to maintain the 2m distance rule both inside and outside the shop. Customers will be entering through the door on the Pumphouse plaza and exiting through the door onto the car park. No seating will be available.

''Contactless payment only - we will only be accepting contactless payment via debit/credit cards or mobile payments.

''Condiment table - all condiments will be kept behind the bar, so you will be asked what you need when you order.

Opening hours - 9 am to 4 pm every day, to begin with (this will be reviewed depending on demand).
