Two members of YMCA Barry Gymnastics Club have been selected for the long list of male gymnasts aiming to represent Wales at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

YMCA Barry Gymnastics members Harri Morgan and Josh Cook have been selected and could represent Wales in Birmingham next year.

Over the next 12 months, 19-year-old Harri and 20-yearold Josh will take part in trials to be selected for the 2022 Welsh team.

The gymnasts are working hard to earn a qualification spot, training alongside their University degrees.

Harri and Josh's coach Peter Haysham was also a YMCA Barry gymnast who represented Wales at the Commonwealth Games.

The club has a long history of success with Barry YMCA gymnasts representing Wales at every Commonwealth Games since 1986.

Harri is hoping to compete at his first Commonwealth Games and Josh will be aiming to compete at his second Commonwealth Games.

In 2018, then aged 17 Josh was the youngest competitor and achieved 13th place overall against the best gymnasts in all the Commonwealth countries.

"Congratulations to Josh Cook and Harri Morgan who have been selected for the Long List to qualify for the Commonwealth Games 2022 Team," said a spokesperson for YMCA Barry Gymnastics Club.

"This is start of the journey towards the CWG 2022 and both Harri and Josh will now undergo many different trials in the ultimate aim to make the Welsh Commonwealth Team - lots of hard work to come."
