THE Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for Wales, including Barry, with heavy winds and rain forecast from Wednesday.

Yellow warnings are issued when it is likely the weather will cause some low-level impacts, including some disruption to travel.

The severity of the winds coming to the UK from the west after an Atlantic storm is such that the service is predicting there will be problems for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges.

Strong winds and blustery showers are expected to cause delays from high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges.

Some short-term loss of power and other services is also possible, as well as delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport.

The Met Office also said that some bus and train services could be affected, with some journeys taking longer.
