The Vale Council announced today that their first two week period of waste and recycling centre appointments have been fully booked.

Residents will now have to wait until the 4th of June to book a slot for the 10th of June.

They said: ''All slots for our Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs) for 26 May to 09 June have now been booked.

Slots for 10 June - 23 June will be available to book online from 04 June. 3500 slots are available at HWRCs in the Vale in each 2 week period.''

Residents will have to adhere to social distancing rules when they attend the centres and people are encouraged to travel alone.

One resident told us that they had attended the site with a younger family member, who was helping them out and was told that only one person could get out of the car and unload the rubbish.

Staff at the centre are currently unable to help with unloading or sorting so the council have asked residents to bear this in mind with the quantity and weight of their waste.
