A councillor has appeared in court charged with historic sexual offences against children.
Vale of Glamorgan councillor Anthony Hampton, 72, appeared at Cardiff Magistrates' Court where he pleaded not guilty to six charges of indecent assault against two children.
The charges date back to the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s.
The councillor for Illtyd has already appeared in court charged with 10 historic charges of indecent assault against children and is awaiting trial.
Hampton, of Fforest Drive in Barry, was charged with six further offences by South Wales Police last week.
Hampton, wearing a dark jacket, trousers, dark jumper and a checked shirt, spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth, address, and to enter his plea.
He was released on bail on condition that he does not contact any of the witnesses in the case, and that he has no unsupervised contact with males or females under the age of 18 other than "contact which is unavoidable through daily life".
Hampton will appear at Cardiff Crown Court on November 26.
The former teacher and cabinet member for education in the Vale was arrested in January 2018 and charged with 10 counts of indecent assault in December last year.
He was a Conservative councillor but was suspended from the party when he was charged.
