The Vale of Glamorgan Show: A Round Up
The largest one-day event in the Vale, held at Fonmon Castle, showcased the very best in local Agricultural expertise.
It looked like the event, which took place yesterday, attracted the usual 20,000 people amidst the hustle and bustle of the summer holidays.
From the horticultural tent bursting with enormous vegetables to the competition rings filled with perfectly pampered pooches - the day was full of variety and talent.
The fun-fair was stocked up with carnival rides as gaggles of children tried their hand at hook-a-duck and dabbled in circus skills with No Fit State Circus trainers.
Punch and Judy took to the stage in a traditional puppetry show which supplied the young crowd with fits of giggles and entertainment.
Businesses were pitched up from across the Vale displaying the plentiful talent and diversity the area has to offer.
Weather-wise the event faced some uncertainty but the sun popped its head out regularly to dry up the showers throughout the day.
Riders showed off their jumping skills in the horse rings and cattle did the rounds as they competed for their first place rosettes.
A new rabbit contest - which saw a variety of spotted, speckled and Watership Down lookalikes presented to a panel of judges - was particularly popular with the crowds.
The Vale Farmers Market provided abundant choice for snacks and take home takeaways. Vendors pushed their local produce as punters readily indulged in the tasty treats.
The day concluded with a flurry of entertainment which included the grand parade of prize winning animals, Jezz Avery's hair raising stunt show and the ever popular hunt scurry.
Results from all of the competitions have not yet been released but when they are Nub News will link them on our site.
