As we now enter the fourth month of 2021 it seems hard to believe that we find ourselves in a similar position to this time in 2020 when the nation was getting used to going into lockdown.

Take a stroll with back through the last month with our top 10 most read stories in March...

This month, seven men involved in the killing of 17-year-old Harry Baker at Barry Intermodal Dock were sentenced to a combined total of almost 120 years.

South Wales Police shared footage of the moment Leon Symons admitted to being at the scene.

We were delighted to share the news that Baby Reign returned home to Barry after seven months in Newcastle. A massive drive for bone marrow donors resulted in finding a live-saving 9/10 match for Reign to combat his rare genetic condition.

At Nub News, we know how important local businesses are. Readers love out UP CLOSE stories, such as Vale Raw Dog store and Mrs Marco's café .

Also this month was the story of Genine Taylor, who is fundraising for Cancer Research by walking 11,000 steps every day in March dressed as a giant pink unicorn.

From unicorns, to foxes – this month Black Foxes CIC has been tracking the animals in the area. One of the foxes sadly lost her foot, but she has since been rehomed and is recovering well.

We also brought you the news that the Vale Council is considering making the Hayes Road traveller camp permanent, and asked if there should be a marina in Barry.

As the weather improves in time for the Easter weekend, this month changes to dog walking areas in the Vale are also set to come into place.

Finally, a bit of nostalgia and magic. Did you know Harry Potter wouldn't have got to Hogwarts without some help from Barry Island? Read all about it with our REWIND story.
