Strong winds over weekend leave low sand levels and stone damaged at Whitmore Bay

Strong winds last weekend have caused minor damage at Whitmore Bay.
Wind speed peaked at 3am on Saturday at 33mph, with gusts of 40-50mph throughout the night.
It then dropped to between 25-27mph throughout most of the day on Saturday.
The number seven steps have been cordoned off at the top on the Promendade, but remain clear at the bottom.
The storm also caused sand levels to drop, with the scaffolding at Gionvanni's on the Prom left hanging in midair and the slope at the number six steps ending with a jump of roughly half a metre.
