There are still a few spaces left for Tŷ Hafan's Barry Island Dark run which will now be taking place on Friday, 10 November.

The fancy dress sponsored fun run – a new, spooktacular event for the children's hospice – has been rescheduled after the sudden death of lighting and sound engineer John Lewis on Friday 13 October.

Jodana Weekly, Events Manager for Tŷ Hafan, said: "First of all I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone for their continued support for us and Barry Island Dark Run. You have all been amazing and we are so grateful to you.

"With this event having to be rescheduled, understandably, a few of our supporters are now not able to come along on our new date due to prior commitments. Therefore, we have a few spaces left for Friday 10 November, but I would encourage people not to delay because I am sure they will be snapped up very soon.

"Plus don't forget that Principality Building Society have pledged to match-fund Barry Island Dark Run up to £12,500 which is amazing! So whatever our supporters raise for us through being sponsored to do this event, will be doubled!"

Barry Island's Dark Run route will start by heading out towards Nell's Point and looping back around to run under the Western and Eastern Shelters which will be lit up specially for this event. Participants will then make their way back to the event village around Smugglers Cove Adventure Golf and through Promenade Gardens.
