Road Closures for Barry Island's 10K Run

This weekend road closures will be in place for the 10k race in Barry.

The Vale of Glamorgan Council have agreed on the following road closures which will be in place from the 3/07/2019 - 4/07/2019.

Road closures for Run for Wales 10K Race:

  • Friars Road (Race start and finish point)

• Station Approach Road

• Paget Road

• Harbour Road

  • Ffordd Y Mileniwm
  • Subway Road
  • Dock View Road
  • Broad Street
• Park Avenue

• Romilly Park Road

• Bron Y Mor

• Beachway

• Lakeside

• The Parade

Barry Island's 10k website issued a statement on the road closures. It states: 'The route has been designed to keep disruption to residents and businesses to a minimum.

'We work closely with the emergency services, whose access to the route will not be affected by the event.

'We apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause and assure you that we will try to keep any disruption to a minimum.

'We wish to thank you for your understanding and we are grateful for your support and cooperation.

'If you are not taking part we encourage you to turn out on the day to join the thousands of spectators who will be cheering on the runners, or why not get involved and support by volunteering!'

The race itself takes place on Sunday the 4th of August at 10am.
