Mrs Marcos Cafe in Porthkerry Park, or Marcos in the Park, will be shutting for an extended period starting this Sunday.

The popular stop-off is closing for building works and hopes to reopen in time for Easter.

In a statement on Facebook, the business said: ''After a few delays. Lovely customers, if you could all let friends and family know that this Sunday will be the last day of our little cafe as you see it now. I wouldn't want to disappoint anyone.

''Keep an eye out for all the news and developments until we reopen. Look forward to serving you on the other side. Thank you for all your support so far.''

The cafe which serves a mixture of hot and cold food is a perfect place to pause after a walk around Porthkerry park, especially with a four-legged friend.

Mrs Marcos is of course linked with Marcos Cafe on Barry Island which is known for its iconic role in the hit TV series Gavin and Stacey.

The Husband and Wife run these two very popular businesses.
