South Wales Police thanked Barry residents for helping track down the relatives of the late Mark Wheatley.

Mr Wheatley, 64, was found dead at his home on Park Crescent, Barry, on January 6.

His death is not being treated as suspicious.

Despite making a number of enquiries, officers had been unable to trace next of kin or confirm if any existed.

However, an appeal on social media led to the discovery of relatives.

South Wales Police said: ''Earlier this week we appealed for your help to locate relatives of the late Mark Wheatley.

''Thanks to your assistance and the power of social media, we have now found and spoken to a relative.

''As always, thanks for the shares and information.''
