Police Appeal after Attempted Robbery of a 72-Year-Old Victim

South Wales Police are appealing to witnesses of an attempted robbery in Barry to come forward.

Detectives are investigating an attempted robbery involving a 72-year-old victim which took place near to Gladstone Bridge on Sunday, June the 23rd.

The man was walking along a footpath near the bridge when he was approached by two men demanding money.

One of the men punched the victim in the face causing minor injuries.

No money was handed over.

DS Phil Marchant, of Barry CID, said: "We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the assault which took place between 12am and 12.30am, to please come forward.
