An Oakfield Primary School student's poem has been selected by the Fairtrade Foundation for it's 2021 exhibition.

Year Four student Kyron, like the rest of his class, was tasked with creating a piece of art, poem, prose or film about his vision for the world they want for farmers and workers worldwide.

Kyron's poem titled 'Fairtrade Vision' reads:

"Farmers and families get a better life

A stable income

Improve working and living conditions

Represent farmers

Time to use Fairtrade

Running water

Always use Fairtrade

Do all you can to support small farms

Everyone looks for the Fairtrade mark"

Nine-year-old Kyron's poem has been included in the Youth online Fairtrade exhibition 2021.

Oakfield Primary School teacher Nathan Barnes said that other work the children have completed on fair trade includes: the story of a cocoa bean, the day in the life of a Fairtrade farmer and creating logos of Fairtrade.
