Jeff Davies ran an ultra marathon on Saturday (9 November) in memory of his brother Marc Davies a former crew member of Barry Dock lifeboat.

Jeff completed his 49 mile ultra marathon on Saturday despite torrential rain and freezing conditions.

His seven mile loop included some challenging hills and a set of steps in Porthkerry park known as the golden stairs.

Jeff had decided to take on the challenge in memory of his brother Marc Davies who had been a crew member of Barry Dock lifeboat and loved anything to do with the sea.

Jeff and his family set up a just giving page and collected money during the run with all money being donated to Barry Dock RNLI.
