The story of the four-year-old girl who discovered an internationally important fossil at Bendricks Bay will be featured on ITV Coast & Country tonight.

Lily Wilder was walking with her father Richard at Bendricks Bay when she spotted the footprint on a loose block.

The specimen is a type of footprint from a Grallator, and dates back 220 million years.

In January, Lily's mother Sally told Nub News the family initially thought "it was too good to be true".

"I had heard that there were dinosaur prints down there but never seen any, so I thought someone might have scraped it out as a joke," said Sally.

The National Museum of Wales Palaeontology curator Cindy Howells was notified of the find and described it as the best specimen ever found on this beach.

On social media, ITV Coast and Country wrote:

Bendricks Bay is a Site of Specialist Scientific Interest, and collection of rocks, minerals and fossils from the beach is not permitted.
