The creators of GlastonBARRY Festival have promised next year will be "bigger and better than ever", as this week would have seen Romilly Park transformed for the event.

Mack Events, the company that runs the festival, postponed the event for a second year in a row in April , feeling they had "no option".

In a social media post, Mack Events announced that smaller local events could take place instead.

"This week we should be down at Romilly Park setting up for Glastonbarry..." they wrote.

"Unfortunately it wasn't to be again this year, but seeing other events given the go ahead in Wales over the next few months does give us hope that things can hopefully return to normality pretty soon.

"Next summer GlastonBARRY will be back, bigger and better than ever, and we hope to announce a few more local events over the coming months too."

They went on to thank Barry residents for their support during the pandemic:

"We'd just like to say a massive thanks to everyone who's supported us over the very difficult last two years, our friends, family, sponsors and loyal army of customers have been truly amazing and we've received so many lovely messages of support.

"This Saturday we'll be putting out a short video looking back at some of our GlastonBARRY highlights.

"We'll also be showing exclusive clips from an unseen documentary called 'Waking up Barry' by local filmmaker Mark Woods which showed how Glastonbarry Tribute Festival came to be.

"We hope you can tune in over the weekend and look forward to seeing you at our events in the future."
