Gavin and Stacey Star is Returnin' to Barry for Christmas Lights Switch On

Visit the Vale announced today that Nessa from Gavin and Stacey, actress Ruth Jones, will be switching on Barry's christmas lights later this month.

The cast have been filming in Barry over the past few months for their upcoming christmas special and the Vale have announced the extra special festive news today.

The stars have been spotted all over the town and have interacted with members of the public throughout the filming process including leaving thank-you notes and free ice cream for Barry residents.

Nessa has made a fair few appearances during this time but will join locals for the first time in their christmas lights switch on.

The traditional Christmas light switch on takes place on Kings Square at 6pm Saturday 23rd. Music and entertainment will take place from 12pm, switch on at 6pm.

A festive market will line Holton Road, with over 40 stalls of crafts, gift ideas and food market.

The festive Christmas market on Holton Road begins on Friday 22nd as well as an evening of late night shopping until 8pm on Friday.

Switch-on event followed by free open air showing of Home Alone in Central Park, Barry at 6.30pm.
