Over the next two years the Vale of Glamorgan Council will be making further changes to recycling.

In a flyer sent out to rural areas in the Vale the new changes and the dates of those changes were outlined.

What are the changes?

  • Residents will be asked to separate their recycling in 2020.
  • Recycling containers will be provided for card, paper, glass, cans and plastic.
  • Food and garden waste collections will continue as normal and can be placed in your existing green bags and caddies.
Four-new-containers will be delivered to residents before the changes commence. Your recycling will still be collected weekly, except for garden waste, which is collected fortnightly between March and November. When will the changes be introduced?
  • Rural Vale: October 2019
  • Barry: Spring 2020
  • Penarth, Sully and surrounding areas: Summer 2020

The changes are being made to improve the quality of materials beign collected for recycling which is better foe the environment and will help Wales recycle more.
