An eighth man involved in the events leading up to the death of Harry Baker has been jailed.

Nathan Delafontaine, 34, was with the 17-year-old's killers and initially involved in pursuing the teenager through the streets of Barry on the night of 28 August 2019.

Delafontaine pleaded guilty to violent disorder.

The other seven men were convicted following a trial at Newport Crown Court of either murder or manslaughter.

They chased the teenager for a mile before cornering and killing him at Barry docks.

Delafontaine and Raymond Thompson were initially part of the gang but broke off the chase before the others entered the secure compound where the killing took place.

Thompson pointed Harry out to the mob.

Another man, Lewis Evans, acted as a driver, helping the attackers locate Harry and driving them away from the scene of the crime.

Delafontaine was jailed for 28 months in June 2020 but reporting restrictions prevented details being made public until the end of his co-defendants' trial.

The seven and their prison terms were:

  • Leon Clifford, 23, found guilty of murder, jailed for life with a minimum tariff of 27 years
  • Leon Symons, 22, found guilty of murder, jailed for life with a minimum tariff of 28 years
  • Brandon Liversidge, 17, found guilty of murder, jailed for life minimum tariff of 20 years
  • Peter McCarthy, 38, found guilty of murder, minimum tariff of 23 years
  • Raymond Thompson, 48, found guilty of manslaughter, jailed for 15 years
  • Ryan Palmer, 34, found guilty of manslaughter, jailed for 11 years
  • Lewis Evans, 62, found guilty of manslaughter, jailed for four years
