Drugs and cash have been seized by police following multiple warrants in the Vale of Glamorgan.

Warrants were executed at three addresses in Barry and two addresses in Penarth on July 18th and 19th.

Operation Hendon was led by Central BCU's Organised Crime Unit and involved officers from the Op Sceptre team, Territorial Support Team and the dog section.

A quantity of class A drugs including heroin and crack cocaine were recovered along with class B drugs cannabis and amphetamine.

Five thousand pounds in cash was also seized during the operation.

A 23-year-old Barry man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply heroin and has been released under investigation.

A 60-year-old man was reported for summons for possession of a class B drug – amphetamine.

Detective Inspector Sarah Trigg said: "This operation was carried out to target those supplying drugs in our communities.

''Tackling the supply of drugs is a priority for us and we will continue to take action to dismantle organised crime groups in our areas.

"We rely on information from residents to tackle drug supply in our communities and I urge local residents to report any suspicious activity to us."

Anyone who has information relating to illegal drugs should call South Wales Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 11.
