COVID-19 cases appear to be rising in Barry. Between 31 Oct and 6 Nov, 25 cases were reported in Barry Island, a rise from just 10 the previous week.

This means there are 265.5 cases per 100,000 people, placing the area in the third highest decile for case prevalence in Wales.

Barry West also experienced a rise in cases with 13 being reported, up from six the previous week. At 140.8 cases per 100,000 people, it is in the 6th highest decile for case prevalence.

Cases in Barry Dyfan rose to 4 (72.9 per 100,000) from 0-2 the previous week. Prevalence remains low, however, and the area remains in Wales' second lowest decile.

Twelve cases (106.7 per 100,000) were reported in Barry East, the same number as the previous week. The area remains in Wales' third lowest decile.

The Vale of Glamorgan Council say it is still too early to see the impact the firebreak lockdown has had on transmission rates.
