Five new parking machines have been installed at Nell's Point car park yesterday.

New machines have also been fitted at the Hood Road car park.

The machines have been installed to provide a contactless payment option for those not carrying sufficient cash.

The car park, which opens when parking demand increases during peak times, had been closed recently when travellers camped at the Docks offices without the Council's authority.

"They have now left the area and we will re-open when there is sufficient demand. Demand that is obviously in accord with current government coronavirus controls," Cllr Peter King told Nub News.

"The fees for car parking at our resorts are the same as in previous years."

The parking charges at Nell's Point between 15 March-30 September are as follows:

8am-4pm

Cars 0-1 hours: £1

Cars 1+ hours: £6

Coaches: £12

4:01pm-11pm

Cars (0 - 1 hour) £1

Cars (1 + hours): £3

Coaches: £6

Blue badge holders can park for free.
