Holton Road shoppers might have noticed the impressive new street art adorning Caesars Coffee Lounge.

The piece features the Roman Colosseum and a statuesque face set on an eye-catching purple and orange sunset background.

Inspired by a trip to Bristol where he saw unique street art round every corner, café owner Marc Chesire would like to see more pieces along Holton Road to attract visitors.

"I did a Banksy tour in Bristol but going around there was street art by different artists everywhere," Marc told Nub News.

"I've never seen proper street art done like that before. We've been here 12 years and I thought we need to do something similar.

"My barber at Pushing Ink introduced me to Kyle and Ceri from Hurts So Good art school."

Located at Windmill Parc Industrial Estate in Sully, Hurts So Good run street art workshops, teaching children aged eight and over the craft.

Marc explained to them his ideas for a sunset and some Roman features but let them have free reign.

It took approximately a month to complete, including the preparation work.

"I didn't even understand how Kyle was doing it, and he said the same thing. He just looks at the picture, does a few spray lines on the wall, steps back and then just goes with the flow," said Marc.

"Ceri and Kyle actually want to do a project along Holton Road. We could have loads of pieces along Holton Road and cover up this 'Soso' graffiti.

"Also, someone from Cardiff isn't going to come here just because we've got some nice planters or funny-shaped bike locks, but they might to see proper pieces of art that you can't get anywhere else.

"These boys are so passionate, and I think it would be great to turn the street into a sort of live art gallery.

"It benefits the shops but the boys are also trying to turn around the whole perception of what graffiti is all about."
