Four-year-old girl discovers dinosaur footprint at Bendricks Bay

A four-year-old has discovered a dinosaur footprint in Barry, while out on a walk with her family that will help palaeontologists understand how the creatures walked.

Lily Wilder was walking with her father Richard at Bendricks Bay when she spotted the footprint on a loose block.

Barry resident's pet silver foxes escape

Photos of a pair of unusual animals roaming Barry were posted on Facebook, leaving some confused about what they were and where they had come from.

The two creatures are not dogs or raccoons as some speculated: they are silver foxes that Llandinam Road resident Lee Saif keeps as pets.

Barry Royal British Legion offers transport to Covid vaccinations

The Barry Royal British Legion branch is offering transport to anyone travelling to receive a Covid vaccination.

Green infrastructure to be planted to help prevent flooding

Work to prevent flooding in Barry began on Monday this week, as part of wider environmental improvement plan that will take nine weeks to complete.

The initial work is taking place on Court Road and Gladstone Road to remove paving and replace it with trees and wildflowers.

Adding grass and trees to the area will allow for rainwater to be absorbed into the soil, reducing the flow of surface water down the area.

Local artist leads community quilt-making project

A local artist is leading a project to make a community quilt, through Barry's Memo Arts Centre.

Jodi Ann Nicholson says she has always wanted to create a quilting project, as it fits with themes in her work about exploring and communicating identity.

Now, following online tutorials Jodi has created people in Barry will make their own squares which she will then put together to form a quilt displayed at the Memo.

Romilly Park tennis courts to undergo £150,000 refurbishment

The dilapidated tennis courts in Romilly Park will be refurbished to the tune of £150,000.

According to the Vale of Glamorgan Council, the courts are currently "in a state of disrepair".
