Barry Dock RNLI and the Penarth Coastguard team were tasked to a person cut off on Sully Island today, the fifth rescue in the area since lockdown began.

The RNLI team said: ''Barry Dock lifeboat launched for the 5th time since the lockdown this afternoon to Sully Island.

''The volunteer RNLI crew were tasked to reports of a person cut off by the tide.

''Please don't put our crews in danger by ignoring warning signs.

Penarth Coastguard said: ''Every 999 call made could put our frontline responders at risk of COVID-19 and places avoidable pressure on our vital NHS services.

''Stretch your legs but not our resources by staying close to home for your exercise. Please follow the Government guidance.''
