Barry Coastguard's First Callout During Lockdown

Barry Coastguard faced their first socially distance call out on Sunday amid the Coronavirus pandemic.

At 00.16hrs on Sunday the Volunteer team were paged. The call was to a person in possible difficulty at the Old dock, Barry Waterfront.

They said: ''As we arrived the situation was resolved and the person was in the care of South Wales Police.

''During COVID-19, Our team still give their time to help others but maintain a safe working distance where possible to ensure we can still provide SAR cover at the Coast.''
