Barry Action for Nature have launched a competition for the best photos of Barry's wildlife for their 2020 calendar.

The photos must have been taken in Barry or its surrounding area and should be original photographs.

Photo's can be of any native wild mammal, amphibian, bird, reptile, insect or fish.

The group stresses that the animal should be in its natural setting and not disturbed in any way.

The winning 12 photos will receive a free calendar with their name published on their winning picture and a tree dedication.

The top three will also receive a Barry Action for Nature mug.

The last day for entry is the 26th of September 2019. Please email your photos (maximum of 3 photos per entry) with your name and where the photo was taken to [email protected]

The chairman of Barry Action for Nature, Rob Curtis, added:

"If you have been disappointed by not winning the Countryfile Calendar competition then this is your chance to win a place in our very own Barry Action for Nature 2020 calendar. "We hope to showcase the extraordinary wildlife that can be found in or around Barry. "I must stress that the wildlife should not have been disturbed in any way while capturing the image."
