An 86-year-old woman from Llancarfan has raised thousands of pounds for Rhoose Community Library and other charities by walking laps of the library.
Barbara Milhuison began fundraising in May last year for an extension at Rhoose Library, and has since raised money for places such as Barry Beavers, Mencap, Bay View Lodge Nursing Home, and Hope Rescue.
Barbara has completed over 3000 laps of the library, St Cadoc's Church and her home, walking through rain and shine.
"I'm a trustee of the library, and we needed the money for the extension," Barbara told Nub News.
"I thought by doing laps I'm not interfering with anybody and I would share half the money with charities.
"Soon after I started, I fell and broke my nose and my little finger so I did the walk around my home.
"I have kind friends who help me, and I always try to check with other people that I'm doing the right number of laps.
"Every time I complete a lap, I put a stone in my basket, but I like having someone else check," she said.
Barbara is a founding member and current president of the Llancarfan Society, a forum for the local area.
She is now raising money for Welsh Air Ambulance, who are celebrating their 20th anniversary.
"The walking is no problem," said Barbara.
"I had to walk as a child to catch a bus or to get to school. So I'm well used to it," she said.
