All Vale residents are welcome to attend the The Vale of Glamorgan 50+ Forum’s annual general meeting (AGM), which will be held on Thursday, September 19.

Victoria Lloyd, CEO of Age Cymru will attend the event as the keynote speaker.

The Forum is an active group that works to both support and champion the needs of those aged 50 and over in the Vale and across Wales.

Members come together regularly to socialise and discuss matters that are important to themselves and their community.

These may cover health, housing, transport, leisure and the arts.

Forum members also actively organise a number of events through the year.

Some of their upcoming events include a coffee morning at Belle Vue Park on 12 September.

To celebrate International Older People’s Day, there will be a fun day event on 1 October at CF61 in Llantwit Major, which will include a host of performances, activities and information stalls from key partners.

The meeting will provide an insight into the Forum and its work, as well as providing the change for existing members to apply for an executive member position.

Members of the Executive work together to give a voice to older people in the Vale and promote the work of the Forum.

Applications for this must be completed by 02 August, and members will be elected at the AGM.

Details for the AGM are as follows:

• Thursday 19 September
• Corporate Suite of the Civic Offices, Holton Road, Barry CF63 4RU at 9:30am - 12pm.
• Registration will open at 9am, includes a free cup of coffee.
• RSVP prior to AGM if possible
