Cadstock organisers have confirmed that the festival will go ahead after a massive fundraising effort from the local community.
The future of Cadstock festival in Barry had been put into question when funding became an issue for the popular free music event.
A community group on Facebook was set up called 'Keep Cadstock Alive' to help raise funds to keep the festival going in the same free, family-friendly way that it has been run for 10 years.
Organisers reached out to Barry locals to help guarantee the return of the festival in 2020.
A music event held on Saturday at the Barry Island Sports and Social Club helped secure the return of Cadstock which was attended and supported by residents, businesses and bands.
In a statement on Facebook yesterday they updated residents on their progress. It said: ''Hey Cadstockers - happy days indeed! Thanks to the great work of Karl Webb and the KeepCadstockAlive group and all you lovely bands, sponsors, raffle and auction buyers, bidders, and donators, and all you rockers and ravers on Saturday evening.
''We raised a massive £2,441.15 towards Cadstock 2020 in Victoria Park. So this means, as we said on the night, its definitely on!
''So book Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th of July in your diaries, and we'll see y'all up at the park in the summer!
''Keep a lookout for some more fun stuff and announcements as we get into the groove working to make Cadstock 2020 the best one yet.''
''Respect, thanks, and love to you all.''
